Each time we return to Rome I marvel at the adventure that is a trip to the restroom. There is a certain air of mystery... Not just in the appearance of the apparatus, although it is different, but in how to operate the machinery.... Is it a switch this time? A lever, a chain, a button or pedal? And once you have determined the method the mystery begins a new with the sink... Does this one pump, do I step on the pedal or do I just begin a rain dance and hope for the best...
On to more entertaining fair...We've seen the Trevi, climbed the Spanish Steps, took pictures at the Piazza Navona and strolled the Via Del Corso. we had an amazing lunch in a tiny, tourist free district in the heart of Roma. While we waited out torrential down pour (where's a good 3 euro umbrella when you need one?) we ate wonderful carbonara and cacio e pepe pasta and drank the house red out of a pitcher. When the clouds cleared we headed to Largo di Torre Argentine. There is an interesting cat sanctuary (google it and donate...the cat live totally on "charity and the love of strangers". We met up with a knitting friend, Alice, did some yarn shopping and then enjoyed a wonderful dinner in her neighborhood. Much fun and even more walking.
